A little big big bang - The Big Bang from TNT Knives

TNT stands for Toni Nikolas Tietzel, who was nicknamed "TNT" at school - inspired by "trinitrotoluene", an explosive. This nickname became the symbol of his brand TNT Knives.

Toni has been making fixed-blade knives since he was 14 years old. He has continuously developed his knifemaking skills to create products that meet his high standards. With WE Knife as his partner, he is now launching his first series folder on the market: the Big Bang.

Variants of the Big Bang

Big Bang - Black
This version has a DLC coating and a stonewashed finish known as blackwash. The screws and thumb pins are anodized gold, which provides an elegant contrast.

Big Bang - Bronze
This variant has a stonewashed blade with bronze anodized handle scales. The screws and thumb studs are also bronze anodized, which complements the overall aesthetic perfectly.

What makes the Big Bang special?

The handle

A key aspect of the Big Bang is the design of the handle. Toni is a fan of integrally manufactured folding knives, but quickly realized the disadvantages of this design. He therefore opted for a semi-integral design for the Big Bang with his specially developed "Fluted Chamfer Milling". This creates the impression of a fully integral design. The 3D-milled clip blends seamlessly into the design and follows the lines of the blade.

The grind

The CPM-20CV steel blade of the Big Bang is equipped with a hollow grind that has a large radius. This enables exceptional cutting performance, which is rarely found in conventional folding knives. The thin cutting edge and finely ground tip also make precise work easier. The "Compound Swedge" design gives the knife harmonious lines in all dimensions - both in the vertical and horizontal planes. The drop-point blade with a needle-thin point offers versatility, whether you are working freehand or using a fixed cutting surface. So you get a lot of blade in a compact, EDC-friendly format.

An innovative design

Always fully at the stop

Many folding knives require an internal stop pin. With the Big Bang, however, there are no internal pins at all. The semi-integral backspacer of the knife is manufactured so precisely that the blade has a fixed stop point when closed. This allows more blade to be accommodated in the handle. When open, the two thumb ramps with their generous contact surface provide a stable hold for the blade on the titanium handle scales. Shearing forces can also be better absorbed, making the entire construction even more robust.

Compact but powerful

Let's be honest: most of us are looking for a pocket knife that not only looks good, but is also practical and functional for everyday use. A key element of the Big Bang design for Toni was size. The aim was to create a knife that fits as many people as possible comfortably in the hand, has a harmonious design and is so compact that you always want to have it with you. The dimensions and weight therefore played a decisive role in the design process.

Easy to maintain

The Big Bang is extremely easy to maintain: you only need a single T8 bit to take it apart. The handle scales are designed so that you only need to loosen two screws to dismantle the knife

Unique thumb studs

Another unusual but well thought-out detail are the thumb studs. These are shaped so that they don't get in the way when cutting or sharpening. To open your Big Bang, simply slide your thumb along the line of the frame lock onto the ramp and gently push the blade forwards.

This gives you a compact, practical and robust series folder that impresses in everyday use.
