The second step
A knife that has accompanied our path for a long time is the Böker Haddock. This model - then still manufactured by Böker Manufaktur in Solingen - was one of the first more expensive pocket knives that we included in our program. Since then, the Haddock has appeared in countless versions and is now sold under the Böker Plus label. When considering which should be our second KnifeLounge Exclusive knife, the choice of the Haddock Pro was obvious, as we were completely convinced by the standard variant of this model designed by Jens Ansø. For the first time, this knife is now available for under 100,- Euro!
The idiosyncratically shaped blade with the curved blade back and the nail nick reminds us a little bit of the beak of a bird, but proves to be extremely cutting-friendly due to the long drawn belly of the cutting edge. With a thickness of a full 5 mm, Böker has used a considerable piece of steel here and you could believe that this is more of a crowbar with a cutting bevel than a knife. The trick lies in the very far to the top flat grind, which was set in such a way that the blade runs out thinly to the cutting bevel. For the steel, we chose the very tough D2 tool steel. This steel is not only extremely resilient, but also takes on a very high sharpness. To protect the blade from flash rust, we advise you to clean your knife with a little oil every now and then.
The handle, like the blade, bears the typical signature of Jens Ansø. Unlike its predecessor, the Haddock Pro now features a liner lock. For our KnifeLounge Exclusive version, we have chosen Micarta as the handle material. It was important to us to be able to offer our customers two color variations. So we have the knife once with brown Micarta and - matching our beloved Chesterfield armchair in our Knife Lounge - in a rich dark green.
All in all, you are dealing with a knife that is both a piece of jewelry and a tool. Whether in your display case or in the pocket of your favorite pair of jeans, the Haddock Pro in the KnifeLounge Exclusive variant cuts a fine figure all around.

Gewöhnte Böker Qualität in exklusivem Design
Das Messer ist zwar etwas größer als meine üblichen EDCs, aber daran habe ich mich schnell gewöhnt. Die Griffschalen sind sehr schön gearbeitet und liegen gut in der Hand, die Klinge extrem stabil und schon aus der Schachtel heraus sehr scharf. Alles top, ebenso wie der Service der ASW.

Hammerteil
Wie immer alles super gut. Das Messer ist von sehr guter Qualität! Sauber verarbeitet, sehr scharf! Zur ASW, dieses Team ist nicht zu überbieten. Kleinere Probleme werden schnell und unkompliziert geklärt. Danke an euch!

Klasse Messer
Habe mittlerweile beide Versionen, grün und braun. Echt schlimm … eines hätte doch auch gereicht. ? Die Messer kamen superscharf an. Schönes Micarta, liegen gut in der Hand und top Preis.

Haddock Pro, mächtige Klinge mit Flachschliff
Anständige Verarbeitung mit einer starken Klinge und einem schönen Farbton, etwas heller als das Luna aber auch passend zur Serie Knie Lounge.

Nice Unique Version of the Haddock
Arrived razor-sharp as have all my other Boker knives. Smooth action & clean lock-up. Comes with a nice zip case as well. [Conundrum: I'm no expert, but the Green Canvas Micarta handle feels a lot like G10 - very dense & non-porous ....but perhaps this micarta is just far more densely compressed than that of my other knives?....] In any event, I am very happy with this beefy worker blade and my thanks to Alt-Silb for making it available to us!

Das Haddock Pro ist für mich einfach top.
Anders als bei den meisten Klappmessern ist der Rücken offen – d.h. ich kann es auch für die Jagd als Backup Messer einsetzen und danach einfach reinigen. Super Design, super Material und super Service! Danke an das Team von der ASW :-)
