A true adventurer
Whether Sir Edmund Hillary carried a pocket knife with him when he climbed Mount Everest for the first time in 1953 we do not know exactly. But the assumption that there was a small knife in his luggage is quite obvious and we find the idea that it could have been Böker Barlow Expedition quite nice. With this new variant of the classic Barlow, Böker exudes the charm of the great voyages of discovery of our time.
The Barlow is one of the most distinctive variants of the classic pocket knives. Typical for this design are the elongated jaws made of brass, which take up about a third of the handle. For the handle, the Solingen-based company has opted for a classic green micarta for the Expedition variant. Embedded in the material is also the classic shield with the Böker Tree logo.
The blade, made of 440C steel, is a clip-point blade that pays homage to the American pocket knives of the 19th century. Thanks to the long-pull, the blade opens well two-handed. The thin tapered edge and fine point provide excellent cutting properties.
Of course, this Barlow is also completely handmade in the Böker manufactory in Solingen. Fans of classic pocket knives get here a faithful everyday companion that is wide for every new adventure.
